Introduction

These diets are the same as used by the keepers at the Wildlife Park at Cricket St Thomas and are reproduced here for anyone who may want to use them either for their own animals or for research although we would always recommend seeking further advise from other zoo sources, animal nutrisionalists and veterinarians to ensure a suitable and balanced diet is maintained.

Lemurs
Morning

Callitrichids
Morning

1 dish of nectar mix per group.

Nectar mix ingredients are as follows:

½ packet Milupa baby food
1 heaped tablespoon glucose powder
½ teaspoon cod-liver oil
½ cap of Colo-cal-D
4 drops Abidec

Mix together in 400ml of hot water to form a 'soupy' consistency and allow to cool.
For 2 specimens, give 40mls of nectar in a dish.

Midday Feed

One stainless steel dish of 1cm cubed fruit and vegatables per group, consisting of the following items:

apple, pear, orange, tomato, boiled carrot, seasonal fruits, marmoset jelly

plus small quantities of the following:

grape, banana, livefood (mealworms, locusts or crickets)

also one occasional item:

boiled egg, pinkies or cheese

v Sprinkle feeds with SA37
v Vitamin D3 powder at 2g or ½ scoop (as provided in pot) per animal daily sprinkled over fruit.
