Reproduction Large Macaws almost never produce eggs before their 6th or 7th year, although they can display courtship rituals earlier to indicate they have bonded to a mate. Typical clutches contain 2 or 3 eggs which are incubated by the females for 25 days. |
Conservation Habitat destruction and capture for importation into the pet trade pose the main threat to this species. |
